Hatfield Town U25's secured their first victory of the season with a comfortable 3-0 win away to Lemsford, with Aman Ghebru marking his return to Hatfield Town after 2 years with 2 goals.
An excellent team performance showed the hours of hard work beginning to pay off for this motivated side, with hours on the training ground now starting to show in game.
The Lemsford keeper made countless saves to deny what should of been a far greater score line. The Blueboys were on the front foot from the kick off, dominating possession with Howard De Silva called into action just once in the 90 minutes.
The first goal came around the 14th minute, when some excellent passing in the Lemsford half created some space, which saw Tim Tabi skip through the Lemsford midfield, to then find Danny Thompson with a through ball, to be calmly put away as the Lemsford keeper charged out.
The second goal was scored by prolific HTFC youth goalscorer Aman Ghebru, who latched onto a through ball by Chris Maloney, to then slot it home calmly.
The third was scored by Ghebru, who got onto the end of a through ball from Richie Tavner to then fire it into the bottom corner.
The second half saw keeper Howard De Silva called into action for what was his only bit of goalkeeping for the afternoon. Lemsford broke in numbers with pace, and a cross was met by their striker who fired it towards Howard De Silva at close range, only for him to make an immediate double-save.
Town had endless chances, with long range shots from Kazi Swaryczweski and Chris Maloney being denied by the cross bar in the second half
The Blueboys were excellent all round, and came away with a well deserved win, with Joe Pontes coming on and showing he's a top player & Matt Schofield, another HTFC youth product, putting in a solid 90 minutes.
Man of the Match was Daniel Norman, who worked tirelessly up front to bring others into the game and hassle the Lemsford defense, showing there's so much more to his game than his goal scoring prowess.
On Saturday we face Knebworth Reserves, 13.30 kick off at the Knebworth Recreation Ground.
Then next week, we play Sandridge Rovers Reserves away on Tuesday, before we host Barnet FC Deaf team on Thursday.
